The Navajo call Antelope Canyon “Tsé'bighanilí - the place where water runs through." The Navajo Tribe considers the Canyon to be spiritual and sacred to the Navajo culture and way of life. In a sense, the Navajo consider Antelope Canyon to be a symbol of the gifts of Mother Nature, the passage of time, and the fact that there are things larger and greater than themselves. Every four years, the Navajo people have the Canyon blessed as they give thanks to the natural elements of the world that helped to form its unusual shape.
